Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex two time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
